2016 has been the year of gut-wrenching visuals and heartbreaking events. And today what are going to cover can certainly be put on the top 10 list, despite the tough competition.
Melanie Jade Ottaway was having just a nice dinner with her partner Troy James, 28, at Beerwah, Queensland when they spotted a huntsman spider big enough to cover a dinner plate having its own party with a full sized lizard dangling in its powerful jaws.
And the scariest thing of all, this was happening just five inches across their dining table on the glass door of the dinning room.
Nearly out of reflexive action (yes, I think this has become part of our human nature now), the Australian Melanie Jade Ottaway took some gruesome pictures.
“We just sat down to have dinner at the dining table and noticed something massive on the glass sliding door, I got up to have a closer look and there it was, a huge huntsman with a gorgeous little gecko in his mouth. It was too late to save him, so we let nature take its path.”
Australia has been known for “interesting” range of natural triggers, from the pizza rat to a huntsman dragging a dead mouse behind a refrigerator, and the all famous kangaroo getting sexually aroused by a dying female. And this gruesome story is nothing short of bonkers as well.
Huntsman spiders are known to be pretty intimidating foe, and unlike their inferior web-building spiders, they have mastered the techniques of stealth and capturing the prey with their swift speed of attack and using the venom as an immobilizer.
