Amazon’s Alexa mishears young boy, “helpfully” tries to serve him porn

Wow, this just made 2016 a little just a little bit better. Amazon Alexa Dot users have found some unprecedented and “creative” ways this technology can be used, but surely no one saw this coming!

In a viral video, a child is seen asking “Alexa, play ‘Digger Digger.'” While we are not sure what that means, but we are 100% sure he didn’t refer to porn (at least we hope so!)

Regardless, the “all intelligent” personal assistant went through its algorithmic server banks, scanned the voice and, in a truly tongue in cheek moment decided that the child actually wanted to hear some porn.

The filming parents took about a second or two to realize the crisis, and only loud chants of “ALEXA SHUT DOWN” stopped the device from scarring the already confused child for life.

According to a person from the Amazon PR staff, Alexa will have a tougher time giving up these adult goods.

He said,

This issue has been fixed, and we are working to build additional restrictions to prevent this from happening in the future. We have also contacted the customer to apologize.”

While we can chastise the technology for being so lackluster, Alexa Dot probably remembered a command used before by daddy! And the only thing parents can use to sue Amazon was not being able to differentiate the voice of a child from the parents’ (iukwim).
